Camp near fredricks va March
The 9 1863
Dear farthers and familys I take
the present opportunity of droping
you A few lines to inform you that
I am well at this time hoping those
fewe lines may reach you in due time
and finde you all well and doing well
I have no newse to write but what
I have wrote home but I must ask A
favor of you dear farther and farther
in law and the favor is this that capt
J H Koon owes me ten dollars and if he [1]
pais it pay him four dollars for
me for that is all I owe him he has
resigned and I want him to pay
wife [?????] he owes me for he
promest his company to die by them
but he is in So Ca and his company is
in va and that is all he cares fore if
he can always [ceep?] that fire from
it he will bee saestfied so I must close
nothing more at present [page torn]

for farther and your farther for
to do for me and if Koon wants
a receit give it to him in my name
but wait tell you have got the
money tell farther to fix my land
papers for if I can get my money
home I want to make apayment
on that note So I must close
tell sister E. M. Epting to write
to me and tell me all the
newse at home I request all
my sisters and brother to write
to me as soon as this comes to ha[n?]
