Dear Wife & Children           Camp Pollard
With pleasure I write that
I am well & hope you and all our people
the same Gods Blesing I have Enjoyed Better
health Since I left home than I have for
a long time We get plety to Eat Bacon
Beef Bread Rice Molases & [Sraw?] Soap Salt
Vinagar as for news here I know of none
worth writing we are not with the Main Body
of our Regt. yet they will Be here in a
few Days it is thought that we will stay
here some time I am as well pleased as
I expected or could Be under the circumstances
the Fare is ruff of our own Cooking our
as Sleeping is as good as Cam[p] Life can
afford we have a good Set of men
We have prayre meeting Every night and
of Sundeys there are considerable number
of Baptist among us you know that I
would like to Be at home with you
but you know why I am away it is
as I please I shall try to Be as content
as posible and hope you will do so too

We have Rain here every Day the wether
pleasant I have had nothing to do yet
But Cook and Eat & Rest We have Drilled
one time I am sadisfied with what I
will have to do if I only have good health
I am afraid Doing with out milk and
Butter & vegtables will not agree with me
our Tallapoosa men are very well sadisfied
Tell Ma and White I will write to them
Soon tell White if he should have to
go to the war I think he had as well
come here I will write again what
I think about it tell the Boys to do the
Best can to help you along and I
will make there Trouble all good if
I live through this war if Sanford has
not come of when you get this Letter
and if he has Send me By Jas Keenam
or Sanford two plugs tobacco one White
Shirt and a hankerchief of Some sort
Write all the news & how you are geting
along and about our people I cant take
up more Time paper But of no importance
