Lynn May 22nd 1864 [Essex Count, MA]

Dear Grandmother
We had a letter
from, Father, yesterday. he says
he has writen to you. but Mother
is going to send hers. for fear
you will not get the one he sent
you. We feel very sory about
Meshach and hope he will come
out all right. We shall not go
down East this summer, as
Mother does not want to take
one out of school – we shall be
down in the fall, Ann Maria
is married. Mazzini is going to
get you a real nice skimmer from
the beach. Mother received aunt
Lucinda’s letter and will and will answer
when she has time. I want you
to answer this when you can
