Biography: 

Eli Barrick (b. ca. 1842) was from Monroe Township, Carroll County, Ohio. He and his brother, Luther Barrick (b. ca. 1840) enlisted as privates in Co. F, 126th Ohio Infantry on August 20, 1862. Luther was discharged for disability on December 21, 1862. Eli Barrick was killed in action at the Battle of the Wilderness on May 6, 1864. Eli’s letters were written to family members including his parents, George and Mary Barrick, his sister Emma Barrick and brother G. W. Barrick.
