Edgar Smithwick Papers, 1863-1867

The Smithwicks lived near Williamston in Martin County, North Carolina. At the time of Federal Census of 1860, Edgar Smithwick (b. ca. 1832) was living in the houshold of his widowed mother, Hannah (b. ca. 1796), and made his living as a farmer. Smithwick served as a private in Co. H, 61st North Carolina Infantry.
