Dear wife and children I again take my pen
In hand to drop you a few lines to in form
you that I am well at this time hopen these
Few lines may find you and all well
I have nothing of im portens to rite to you
for we cant hear as mutch news in camps as we
Cod at home thay ar fixing to Start men to
morrow back home to bring the men
that has never come B Stewert is one out
of our mess and as the mess is all sending home
for Somthing to eat and I want you to
Send me a cake of butter you had better
Send it Soon for he has but 4 or 5 days to
Stay you made not think that we do
not get anuf to eat by sending home
for Sutch things we have had plenty So
fare you no that I braut a goodeal with me
And so did all my mess per haps you may
want to no hoo our mess is it is me and

of beaf corn meal and rice sugar and some
flour we hav sold 40 pounds of beaf thre
Pecks of meal 20 pounds of rice if we draw
as plenty for the futer as we have so far
We will not Suffer for Sumthing to eat
this is Sed to be the sivels redgment that
is out I dont no my self ther is a good
meny rowdys in it and agood meny Sivel men
we hav a chaplin by the name of gains he is
