Dear mother it is with
great pleasure that I set
down to write a few lines
to you to let you know
that I am well at presant
and I hope these few lines
will find you all enjoying
the Same good blessing
I have rote a letter to
yous some three weeks
a go and hand [1] got an
answer yacht and perhaps
you dident get it or maybe
if you sent it it got lost
and we dident get our
mail nearly a week we
are in our brigade again
and we was three days on
picket this week and we are
under marching orders but
where it goes I dont know

Dear mother I hant got much
news to write this while we
lay in our Camps yacht
and everry thing is quiet
along here. we have got
plenty to eat we get soft
Bread four times a week
and plenty meet also it
would go better if I was
at home at the table.
we havent got payed yacht
but I spose we will get payed
next week there are four
month do to me fifty =
two dollars and I will sent
it to you by mail.
Dear Mother pray for me
and I pray for yous at home
