Camp near Brandy Station Va
Dear Mother
I will now write a few
lines to you to let you
know that I am well
at presant and I hope
these few lines will
find you enjoying the same
good blessing. I have
wrote to you allmost
a month ago and
havent received an answer
yacht perhaps you dident
get it or you might
have writen and I dident
get it I have been looking
everry night now over two
weekse and noen come
yacht now I give=up all
hopes. I received a letter
from Sol and he dident

Say any thing how you was
geting along or nothing
there hand anything new
going on here we are all
comfortable in our
winter quarters yacht
and the rumer is here
in camp that our Corps
was to reliefe the 8th Corps
at Washington and Baltimore
and if that is so we will
have fine times for the
unexpired term of our
enlistment. we have had
verry fine weather the last
few weeks to day it is
Dear Mother write as soon
as you get this and let
me know how you are
getting along we
havent got paid yacht
and thay say we wouldent

get paid till march
Dear Mother I hope this
war will soon be over that
we can all return home onst
but as long as the rebells
are not conquerd I am
willing to stay and fight
Soldiering agrees verry
well with me
I enjoy better health
now then I ever did in
my life I weigh
one hundred and Sixty
three lbs at presand
more then I ever weight
before. I well now close
my letter for this time
Dear Mother pray for me and
I will remember you in
my prayer as long as I live
