Wilmington NC March 3 th 1865
Dear wife
I Recieved your letter night
Before last and was sorry to Hear that
Chetty [1] was sick But you must try and
Cure Him up as soon as possible I
tell you I was pretty sick for about
twenty days But I am all Right now
I got a letter from Chet and deel and
Joel they all came at one time and
[was all?] [???] [???] But Joels
was wrote nearly a week later than
the Rest Jo Sayes we Have got a nice
Pig to kill next fall I am glad of
that ownly feed the Pig plenty and
the children plenty and it will
Be all Right and Keep plenty to eat
yourself and plenty to ware and
you aught to get someboddy this
Spring to set our some Peach
Trees and if Chet dose anny grafting
this Spring Get Him to put a

Punkin apple graft in that tree
where the one was last spring and
died the Pie apple Lived and the Harvey
apple lived But the punkin apple
died there is nothing new to write
about we are in the same place we
was when I wrote Before now mimy
if there is anny news in Blintown
that is funny you must write
and tell a feller what it is dont
Keep it Back I Here that Brother
tommy Has Run away to get clear
of the draft I say let Him go and
Glory go with Him if He will only
Stay away for a man that
will Run away from the draft
never aught to come Back and
I should think He would be asha
med to show his Head Back again
you must write often for I Have
wrote a letter nearly Everry
day for awhile Back no more
