I set down in my shanty
to right you the last lines
from beverly We will march
this afternoon or in the morning
at the furthest for to go back
to the rale road & it will take
a bout 3 days to get thare But
our capton has imployed a
wagon & teem to hall our nap
sacks & that will make it
easyer on us we have found
out yesterday that our curnel
hobergh [1] have had orders 10 days
ago but the oald dutch curnel
he has been ceeping us back with
the purtents that oald reble
Roser [2] was handy But they
sent an officer here to se what
was ceeping this regt & they
found out the the falt was in
the ornry curnel we as new
compenys marched around camp
last night & went past the
Col[???] hed quarters & give
him a chear with 3 groans

& our oficere has bin reported
for being drunk & for diferent things
& I think we will cary on about for
our selves them 3 or 4 cumpenys
is the black dutch & last night
& he was or is yet a captin of 1 of
thare compenys & he has been acting
as our colonel & I think he hasent
nor can get the comishen
& we have had orders to report
at harisburgh on the 20 & we cant
get there that that soon & a dispatch
came this morning for us to
be at harisburgh agin the 25th
& I think we will be at home a bout
the last of this month
We ar all purty well I have a
nother boil on my right cheek
& I think it will brake in a day or
so my health other ways is good
I am fatter then I have been
for some time I hope that theas
lines may fine you all in good
health Direct your letter as usual
by the way of Washington
