Lexington Oct 8th 1863
Dear Brother
I drop you a few lines
Father got Drs sertificate for you and when
I looked at it I dont see when you were
Recive at that hospitle but I will go up
and see D. C. Hopkins he will have a statement
of what you recived if that is what you want
we are all as well as usually the baby is
growing very fast Bettie is talking of name
it William Scott I have got most well again
Pa is in town to day they are all well at
home Hinnie McCauley is at Pas now she
is talking about going home next week
and Annie is talking about going along with her
Bettie says she would write some to you all but she
has not time to day I wanted to send Da[n]iel’s
blanket to him by George Chapin but he said he
could not take it I want to send it next week
by Uncle John Fulter and a Box too if Pa dont
send you one Susie is as fat as ever Sacrame
-nt is at Timberridge next sunday
There is a hard old tail on Mr Trimbles last
years school It is said that there is a going
to be 14 increase’s so from that I think that our
Army is to be filled up It is said that Maggie
S[??]rew is one that is Fortnight daughter
[page 2]
If the report is true Mr Trimble will not stand
so fare with the People I think it is not a
very good thing to be too intimate with Soldiers
I guess if the Reports are true Trimble will
never want to see another Cavelry Camp
near Browns Burg
Pa told me to ask you if you wanted
any Boots this winter Pa said he would
have them made for you if you did want
Pa said he was not more than half done
sowing wheat yet
Every thing is vey high and still rising
Bettie and Susie sends their Love to you
and Daniel Yours most truly
