Dear Father
I received your
Letter dated the 16th of last month
and Was Truly glad to hear
From you These lines Leaves
me in good health
I have no news Worth your
attention at the present We
are now in camp near culpeper
and is keeping up our old
picket Lines We have spendid
pastures for our horses We
dont get very much corn for our
horses But plenty to keep
them very Well if we dont
have no hard marching to
do this Sumer my hors is
in very good fix he mends dayly

horse but you need not put
your Self to any Trouble
unless you think it will
pay But Be sure and tell

that Stepp has got it fixed
all right with the colonel
and wants him to come
and stay in his place with
me tell him I want him
