Camp Lamb Wilmington
My Dear Wife I
now tak and opportunity of address[?]
you afew lines to let you know
as I am up about . but not well
I have been very bad off . I am
a meding very fast now I have kept
up all the time . I am inhopes
those few lines will find you all
enjoying good health , I want to see
you all very much indeed. I am in hopes
as i can go home befor long . Alex
is agoing home to night I want you
to sind me a few Ashpotatoes when [1]
Alex come back if you have them
they are worth four dollars per bushels
here we cant get any vegetables
here with out paying two are three
times the worth of them I have
not bough any myself nether do I
exspect to at them prices , I am very
sorry as I didnot bring those little
bundles with me as you put up for

me please sinds them to me the
first opportunionity you get . you know
what they are shage & corlandder [2]
seed . send me any thing you as
you think is good for the direar
that is very trublesome here
is about six or seven hundred
[???] in this Regment now . writ

letter sence I have been in camp
was wroat June the first .

try to come back home befor long
