Camp near Richmand Va July 18th
My Dear Wife
I now take
an opportunity of addressing you
afew lines to let you know as I
am a mending very fast. althought
I have been very bad off with the
mumps. I am inhopes as those few lins
will find you all enjoying good heath
I recieve your letter dated June 24th
I was glad to hear from you all for nothing
gives me more pleasure that to
hear that you are all well, you said
as you wanted to know how my fair is here
so I will tell you what we have to Eat
and you can jurge for your self, we get
a pleanty of bacon, , and a pleanty of
flour, and some salt, that is all
but we did not get any thing but
give my love to Par and
and all his family and to all inqirn
ing friend and recieve alarg potion for
your self and Chrildrend your affectionate

have no stamps neather can I get any as yet
but I am inhopes as I shall be able to get
