Handover County Va August
My Dear wife I now
tak an apportunity of addre
ssing you afew lines to let
you hear from me I am not
well but so as to be up
had a very hard
march we left our old
camp last Tuesday morning
to go to Jackson but
that order was counterman
ed on wensday so we have
camped here about 25 or
30 mile from Richmand
north west in about 3 miles
from Hanover Junction
the Reg ment got here
Thursday morning just be
for day I got here about 10
o clock I brook down

I was not
ther was a great many
brook down we have
avery large army here
I think as we will stay here
Some time as we are in
a half a mile up the Rail road
if we are they want us at
gordenville we can get on the
train and go if they want
us about Richmand they can
carry us the in a short time
give my love to Par and
his family and to all inquir
ing friends and to my little
Chrildren and recieve
alarg potion for your
self remain your
affacetionate husband
