April the 15 1861 Dear wife i take my [1861 mistake for 1862]
pen in hand to in Fom you that i am well
at this time hoping when those lines comes
to sight they may find you and the children
well and doing well and Farther and mother
Sisters the same i sent Some clothing
to william masseys in george blicks
box i wrote for you to come to see me
but there is no chance for you to get
here they will not let any females
come further than golds borough Mr
low says when there is chance for you
to come he will let you know he is going
to bring williams wife and he will
Bring you with him i want you to bring
mee the things i sent for if you get the
chance to come Richard bles is well
and wishes to be remembered to you all
give my respects to plesant trice and
family and to Wm Adkins and family
and Neigh brows and in quireing friends
if i could be with you and talk with you
i could tell you how a man felt in

i was in a hurry and did not wright
as much as i would i will wright you
a long letter before long we are much
tighter bound than wee have ben
here to for Fore i want you to wright
soon and wright how you have gotten
along with your cattle this winter
i have nothing more at presant only
i remain your loveing hus band un
