State of vergunia August the 20 1862 A D
Dear Mother I Seet myself to drop you A few
Lines to inform you that I am not well for
I have been very Sick the Last three days I have
had A fever nearly all the time but I feel better
this eavening then I did yesderday for I had A
high fever and throwed up all day though I hope
thoes few Lins will reach and find you all well and
doing well I will inform you that our rigment
is gone it Left yesderday morning an went towards
richmond but I dont know whare they are gone to
it is thought that we are gone to reinforce Jackson
that is as near as I can tell you About them we
Sick ones was Left here to knock Along as we can thair
is A Abulanch here and some was caried to the horse [1]
pittle to day and I am going to try an go to morrow
for I will fare better thair then to stay here in the tent
and no Docter to attend to us for he is gone to

Mother I am not dangerous as I know of but
I am so week that I am fit for nothing for
if I want any thing to eat I am not able to
cook it an if I was at the horse pittle I could
get somthing thair they keep the house mighty
nice an clean I sent A pare of trowsers an Shirt
home by Mr jarman and in the pocket thair
is Seven pen points that I Sent to you and
for got to make mension of it in the other Letter
Mother take to hart nomore then you can posobly
help for it will do no good I think I shall see home

See each other Agane Less Live so that we may meet
in heaven I cant tell you what to do About write
ing so you can do as you choose but I shall write
