I Seate my Self againe
to write you I am well at present hoping
when thes few lines reaches you they may
find you well and all the rest well and
doing well James I haven received a leter
from you Sents you hav bin at home I
have written you a cupple I cant see why
I dont get some unless you dont write to me
I will infor you that all the troops are gone
to new born I expect they are fiting there know
there intention was to take it this Tryel
I am in Kinston know in the garde house ower
men brot a cupple yankees her yesterday and poot
them in the garde house with us they sed ower
men wod get newborn if they tride to take it
for the yankees haden murch forse there some
foure thousan men ther and a greate many
of them nigro the is eight yankeys with us
they run way from new born and come there
the lines to ouer side They dont want To fite

Patcy Helsabeck got her yesterday even I
Saw her but diden Speak to her She went to
the Camp whare ouer Regt left the Sik was
left in the camps Marte Moser one of them
I dont think She will get him off he was Some

talk James I dont know when I will get

yet and dont know when I will be I am in

Sid is gone to Newborn the last time I saw
