Camp Chase Ohio
October the 10th 1864
Dear Wife.
This cool morning
finds me well. (with the exception
of the rheumatism.) and doing
well. we have had no cool wether
only for the last fiew days
I have not received any news from
home saince I left. I should be
glad to here from you all and
what for cropp you made &c.
J.W. Beck is well and can eat
his rashens. I should like verry
much to be at home one time
more. I hope the time is not fair
distant when my wants will be
satisfied. you must wright to me
as soon as this comes to hand I
will enclose a backed envelop for
you to send a letter in I will close
for the presant I remain yours &c
