As I am a Soldier
in the Servise & my health hertofore
has bin so bad that I havent bin
able to do no kind of labor five
better than five years my disease
is disease of the heart I was exem
pted till the last board came
arsound on account of my health
& this time I was conscripted &
have bin in the Servise some three
months & am now at home on
Sick furlough my command is
Gen Vance & I wold like to be
detailed to do some kind of buisness
that would agree with my health
better I think I cold do more or be
of more Service to my county in

in that way than I cold be in the
armey & I wold be verry glad if you
cold give me Some Kind of a detail
that I cold perform better as this
country needs an agent to buy up
Salt on the coast I wold like to be
appointed agent for that perpose
as our regular agent has failed
in getting a supply of Salt for
the country or I wold be glad to
get any kind of a detail that I
wold be abler to stand than the
Servise i hope Gov you will let
me hear from you soon & if it isent
in youre power I hope you will
advise me as to getting a detail
