Dear Sir February the 15 1863
I now take my pen in hand to
inform you that I want you to help
me for they only throw in 9 $ for me
and 4 Children and that dont half
support us and I want you to help me
for if you dont we will be oblige
to starve. My Husband is in the war
and they money that he drawes he has
to by some provision for they dont get
any thing to eat hardly down there that
is fit to eat. Hee is at Willmington
I want you to help me if you pleas
for the 9 $ dollars that I received
dont half support us as high as evry
thing is now and if you dont help
me I shall be sure to starve
