Dear Sir
I take the presant opportunity
to write you a few lines to let
you know how things are
going on in this part of the
country the mannfactriry of
cottin are got so indepenent
that they will not let
the people have any cottin
with out corn or wheat or
bacon and there is a great
many people that has not got
pervision to Spar and i dont
know what they are to do they
have been to theme with the
money some wimmen and they
could not get any
cottin at all. thir husbands
is in the army and they have
there grain to buy

I knew of a woman
going the other day to
Holt facttory her husband
is in the army and She
<?oont?> herself She had no
grain nor meat to Spar
and She carried the money
and they would not let
her have any Corn all She
could do So there fore
Mr Govner I thought it
my duty to let you know
howe those men are treting
the poor class of people
I dont Serpose Mr Govenor
that you ever have heard
of those Men treating the
people So I think Mr
Govenor you are a fine man
from what I can lern of you

and I thou if you know
the way them poor
wiman was treated by
those facttory men that
you would put astop to
the way they are treating
the people those facttory
men they wont notice
the people that goes with
their money much more then
if they ware dogs So therefore
I thought I would write
you a few lines to let you
know of those hard hearted
people I am inhopes that
is is in your power to Stop
those men from pressing on
the people So that it May
benifit the people
I hope and trust that

I write this for the Sak e
of the people not for my
intrust but for the intrust
of the wiman that their
husbands is in the army and
they have their poor little
children to clothe I want you
to write to me direct your
letter to mebany vill
