I write you a few
lines for the purpose of
trying to get you to let my
Husband come home from
the Hospital he has bin in
service one year the 20th of
this month he has been
sick all the time he has
bin in the Wilson Hospittle
& then moved to Petersburg
Hospital then to Golds
borough Hospital & he is now
in the Farrough ground [1] Hospital
at Raleigh his name is
William P. Weadon he is
down with the Rheumatism
he has bin a invalead
from his cradle to the presant
time I dont think he will

ever be able to do Military
duty & for this reason I
kindly aske the great favor
of you to let my husband
come home wher I can wate
on him I hope it will be
your good will to give him
a discharge for my Sake
if you are not so kind as
to give him a dis charge I
hope & trust that you will
not refuse to give him a
Furlough & let him come
home to Stay a while so
I can wate on him I think
he will get well sooner
if you do this than he
would to keep him in the
Hospital so much I do
not ask this favor of you
because I think my

Husband is so much
better to be in the army
than others it is only
because he is diseased &
is not fit for service &
he has bin sick so much
govner I would be willing
to get on my nees to you
if you would let him come
home I beg you to discharge
him if you will
I shall never forg et your
kindness to me & my dear
Husband if you can not
discharge him I dont think
your good concients will
let you refuse to give him
a furlough if you only
do this you Shall be highly
respected by me as long as
I live I know it is in your

for my sake & the lords sake
please let him come for
he will die if he has to stay
there I would go to see him
but I have a Baby that
prevents me from so doing
I will close those remarks
by asking you to let my
husband come home
