High Point N C March the 11 [18]63

Mr Vance
my husband is in the army
and has been there one yeare
and never been at home in
time of it I have five
little children to suport
and nothing to go upon
I have asked every
that I [??] and I am
sufering I have nothing to
eate but bread and wery
little of that there is plenty
of provision in this place
but the they will not let
me have a pound of meat
nor a bushel of corn
and I dont know what to
do next I thauht I would
write to you and see if you
could do somthing for me
