I write you to know if I can have
a detail of men to Repair or rather
rebild a sit of Iron works in
Mitchial county yoou will please
gave me such infor mation as I may
need and oblege yours please to direct
to spruse pine –
I will write you a to infrom
you of some goverment agents as
as they called them selves who war round
through the country about last
christmas tilling the people that
they were goverment agents
from Knoxville and if they did not
sell them ther Brandy they would
press it onely on these saying they
bought a gradel through this country which
they halled to Burnsville and even

pressed my fother team to hall for them
and pressed my Brandy when I was
in the Army as I was thar at that tim
I inqurd of thes mens authority
when I was in Knox ville the other
day and they are not known By
the goverment they are conscripts
from East Tenn that are trading
Back wards and fort[h] to dodg
they have a considerable lot
of Brandy in Burnsvill yeet I
wante to know if it cante Be divided
a mong our Soldiers or put to
some other use than for these men to Sell
at $40 per gallon if ther is
any thing done it aught to Be done
soon if you will autho ise me
I will like to gou then th<?>
that they me yours &c
