To his Excelency the Governor of North
Carolina,
Sir since you have revoked
the order concerning the seizing of Stills
that were in use contrary to law and
Orderd them to be delivierd up to their
owners, the people have commenced Stilling
a gain in a grater proportion than
before, Sir corn is worth from six
to ten dollars per bushel in this County
and is hard to get at that price, the
people will bee Obliged to Suffer for
bread in this country, there was no
stilling going on. there are wealthy
people here that furnish corn to
persons that are not responsible for
any thing and they do the s[t]illing while
the weathy man reaps the benefit.
they also get lowdown females to
Still for them. they persons that
have the corn stilled hire people to
still it that are so trifeling that
the good Citizans think it unnesissary
to take them to Court, as non but
the stiller suffers according to the
act of the legislature on stilling, Sir
I will be much Obliged if you will
inform me how to put astop to
and how the persons that furnish the
corn to the Stillers are to bee come at
these persons that furnish this corn to
stillers, willnot sell a grain to the poor
for love or money. I want to know

how a Justice will see that the
law is put inforce, when the
Stillers say that if a Justice
issues a warrant they will
burn their houses and barns
Sir I want to know what is
to be don with the persons that
furnish the corn and causes the
Stilling to be don, I want to
know if they are not guilty of
missdemeanor and liable to be
delt with in court, I will be
much obliged if you will answer
this letter soon
