your humble Servant begs leaf to state
that he is a subject of the conscript act
and between the age of thirty five and forty
and is Exempt from military duty by reasen
of Shoemaker and havest is approaching as you
know for which my object is to know of you
if I may be permitted to Save my own
grain and grass as heretofore by my own labor
not having no person to do the same for me
an answer to the above will be most thankfully
received and promtly adhered to
