June the 13th 1863 Dear Sir I set
my Self to write a few lines to you Excllence
If you can doe any thing for me
in trying to get his [1] position change
in the armey if stays their he must die
So much Drillin ther Cony marches he
got hut in the Back when goeing to chool [2]
chool Some 4 or 5 year agoe not onley that
But he Rupturd if you thot thought
the secatary of war would asign to him
some Stacionary palace in the
armey I would like to get you to write
govener or write Back to me the Docters
wont let him off he could be asinged to
some stiond place but he can not stand
marching if you thot be any chace
I would Goe to see you as my Son belongs
Belongs to the 37th North Co Carolina
Regement if your Excelince would write
on to Secatary of war if any chance
my paper So bad cant write no Satesfaction
if you be So good to write to me

charge a man in virginia till he dies
