to my company without being punished
I will state to you how I came home
without a furlow I joined the Pittsboro
company for twelve months with the
promise of a furlow I served my time
out without a furlow faithful at the
end of whicch time my Captain
toled me if I would reinlist for
two years he would give me a
furlow for thirty dayes I wated
very patiently for a great while
but did not get any furlow and
I was almost necked I thought I
would come home any how and see my
folks and get me some cloths in a short
[page 2]
time after I got home Capt Ramsy
and his company came in a few
mils of my mothers hunting conscripts
I went to him to know if he would take
me he said he would I joined him and
we started back to the army in a few dayes
and would have been with him now if
my Cap London of the 32nd redg, had
not sent to Capt Ramsy to send me
to the conscript camp Capt Ramsy
started me there with my transpotaton
ticket but I left before I reached the
camp but if I knew I could get back
to Capt Londn and not be punished
I would go willingly and serve him
faithfuly a gain, if you will help
me I would be glad you would write to me
instantly, for I am anxious to get back
