Govener Z B Vance Dear Sir
I take it on myself to write
you A fiew lines to let you no the
situation of our neighbourhood the men
to 45 I surpose they are caled out
in Hertfort govener I wish you wold
be so kiend as to detail Mr William
Vaughn from war to stay at home
to help out the poor wiming and children
he is the moste youseful man in his
neighbourhood my husband have ben in
servise going on two years and my dependenc
is in him he is always ready and
willing to help ous out in time of truble
they is 8 mamilis [1] in this neighbourhood 
destitute of men only two very ole men
we can not live without A mans assistance
our hus bands is all in service
we will all have to suffer without
Mr Vaughns assistance he is my dependence

beg you to give ous one man to
help ous out for the power liese in you
