Blowing Cave april the 14, 1850
Mr Barrow
Sir I a gane take my penn to in form you of the affars her we hav hads a long cole spell her and sum frost we (torn) sum this morning. But non to hurt as for my Corn it has Got over the first frost and it has Growun fineley and it is the Best Corn Crop in 30 miles of this place and it is good order and sum of it is a bout half leg high [?] and I have a Good Stand one all of the land But a Bout three of fore a cors at the to bacco haus new ground and thar may [??]
Be a Bout eight or tenn acors at the Beech hammoc. that I planted over and that was By the tirky Crowers and Birds I never have knowen them to Be So Bad [??] Before and my Cotten it comes up Slow the wether has Bin So Cold But one the mist of my land thar is a tolerable Stand and it is still a Coming up do that I know I Shall have a Stand and that a Good one this is still a Coming up do that I know I shall have a Stand and that a Good one this is the Caus why I did not A Write at my Regular time for I wanted you to know. whether I have a Stand or not and I have a Bout eighty acars plowed [?] and [??] [?] out so I Shall keep [??] every thing in a Strote [?] in order to keep a head of my Crop and not let it Git a Starte of me for I have a Good Starte and if all keeps well annd I have good wether I Shall worke my Cotten over in a Bout ten days at lest I [??] in tend to try for it and Sumpthing will have to Bend or if I dont Brake and I take a Graded of panes in workeing of it for I in tend to tend my Cotten well in order to make all I can off of the Corn I have in for I intend the [?] to make it Bring as much as what I maid last yer (torn) x chance So I Shall try to Be Redy for you when you come let that Be when it will and I Shall Be Glad to Se you and if Mrs Barrow will Come with you tell hur I Can feede you and hur one [??] iRish potatoes and Chicken for I have the finest potatoe pach that Can Be Started this is all I have to state a Bout my Crop thar is my oats I have a fine prospect for them tha ar now BeGining to [?] and if I have Se Sions tha will be fine now for my stock tha ar all in Good [?] plite [?] that is my horses and my hogs

the Bisness that I have Dowun at Sell ing of Corn I Shall Be able to Sell [??] all the Corn I have to Spar I have sold 719 Bushels and have de [?] 505 Bushels and have re ceved a Bout 750 dollars in Cash the Balanc in nots a half cents and I think I Shall hav to put it pu to 75 Cents a Bout the firs of may if not Be fore I wante to try to Sell a nuff to By a negro if you wish to lay it out in that way I thinke I Can Sell a Bout 600 Bushels more though it is a heepe [?] of troubble to me and Causes me to have a Gradeel of walkeing to dow that I would not have to dow if it was not for masuring of Corn I tell you I dow hate to Se them Come [??] af ter Corn when I am a way off from the hous and every thing a [?] to lene Rite a hed But I have to leve to let them have Corn
