Blowing Cave august the 6 1850
Mr Barrow Sir
I a Gane take my pen to in form you that we ar a dvancing [?] of the Best we Can her my wife and two of my Children has had the fever and my wife was Confined a Bout fore days But tha have Got well and thar has bin five of the negros sick with fever Since I rite to you But tha ar all at worke to day But Gilbert and Ester and Hanner is Still a mending and I keep up my Self and I am herer now then I have Bin in fire yer [?] But it is not Good flesh
I have to Cose a letter from you I Got it the Same day I mald the one I x Sent to you and you Stated in it you wish me [??] to Stay with you and I am willing to Stay Mr allen Came to my hous to looke over every thing But I was a Gowing to Bainbridg and met him and he went all over the farm By his Self and I hated that Bad for it was a Bade tim for a mans Crop to show two days after the storm I write to you a Bout if he hade of come week Be fore it would of Showing a Gradeel Better But for all of that I thinke I Shall make as much Cotten as I dide last yer if the Storm dos not case it to rot and if Mr allins Statment dos plees you I will Stay with you for $ 350 dollars and [?] me the same you have this yer and if I am not warth that to you thar is no one that is I have hade more offerd to me But I like you as a man and think you [??] ar a frend to me and I am her and dis like to hare a Bout I would like it Bitter if you could of Bin her your self But it cant be helped at this time Sow you may [??] Con sider the [??] matter and looke at it well and rite me Soon what you will dwo I dont wish to impose on you at tall I am anist in the matter
Mr allen and my Self dide not a Gree in the Crope I Say it is a Better Cotton Crope then last yer and he ses not an Buckley Joines me in the Same and Ses it is a Better Crope and I will prove the matter this fall [??] and Show that my Judgment is harde to Beete I am Sorry that allen was not her Be fore the Blow I should like it Better if he would come aft tener her then he has this yer and I am a Giting a long sloly with my Cotten sinc the Blow for I have a Gradeel to pick up off of the

[2] Ground and it is tidiousx But I shall Git over the first time in [??] fore or five more days and I Git pick out at this time 67323 lb of Cotton and I have pick the Gin lot over twist [?] and the Cribe field and a gane I git over the Balance the first time I will have over eighty thousand and I am Still in the notion that I shall make more then I did last yer and I have had my Gin Geer dowun and Bin a runing a weeke to morrow and I think I have Got a Bout 16 [??] Bales & find in that time and it is the Best Set of geer that I ever have Seen Run and I have my Gin a Bout 32 feet from my Band whels and Two mules can [??] pull [?] is with ese But I worke fore to [?] as yet I had a hundred and 27 [?] [??] pounds of Cotten in one Basket this morning and I hel my mock [?] and it gind it I n 72 [?] and a half minits and it runes the fastest of eny Gin I ever have seen to Gow By hors power and I have pack Six Bales to dya and I will send you the wats of them the first 545, 600, 785 [?], 565, 580, 539 this is the wats of the Bales to day I [??] wante to pack to morrow and I have paide the man for Bilding o the Gin Geer $40 dollars though I hade no orders from you But I thought it was Right I am a dowing of the Best I Can that you may de pend one you have not Riten to me a Bout [??] Baggin and [?] I am a making use of my one Rite to me a soon as you Git this my stock all looks weell Give you a list of my hogs in my other I have had no pigs sence my hogs or all in fine order and I shall have a fine lot of meet hogs for this fall I must Close for it is now 10 oclock I think this is all I want you to think of me and when you Come to se me if my servis is not worth what I ask I will hire it up [?] far well your frend
