Camp near culpepper v.a. July the 21 1863
dear Wife and family after giving you
my best love and respects I will
endever to drop you afew lines Which
leaves me not so well though I am
[page torn] at this time I was behind the
company for four days but I am
up With it now I am week and tiard
but thank god that it is no worse
with me than it is I got hear yes
terday and the company got hear
on Friday my dear I received your most
wellcom letter dated the 20 and was
truly glad to hear from you all again
and to hear that you Was all well
I have got two letters from you before
sence the baby was born one of them
father wrote on the 25 of June and
the other one you wrote on the 5 of July
and you also said I should tell you
if I got Miss M E Epting letter or not
I got one from her dated the 20 of
June that is the last one I from her

I have no newse to write at this time
only We hav hot weather and it is clou
dy and raining some today my dear I am
truly sorow to say to you that I have
not heard anything from brother

I am glad to hear that you have got your
Wheat thrashed and at home my dear i
Would like to now if J. J fulmer told
it or not and if you have the straw
saved or not I would like to now how
many bushels you got and if you have
barrels enogh to save it in I am glad
to hear that your corn looks so well
tell me in your next letter What you
have to give the girls for plowing
you said I should tell you how many
bushels of Wheat to save I cant har
dley tel you but I think you wold
better save about three or four bushels
and if you dont sow it all you can grinde
it then that the best I can tell
