Dear Wife it is
With pleasure that [??????] my pen [1]
to pen you afew [lines?] on this bless
ed sabeth morning [enforming?] you
that I am well hping those few
lines may finde [you?] all in Joying good
health Dear Wife [???????] say to you
that we have [???????????] mile[s?]
from russellvill [towards?] knoxville
We are putting up [winter?] quarters
and as for newse I have but little at
present only thare is Some talk of
our coming to the cost [and?] I hope it may
be So I received your [???] to Wellcom
letter of the 3 and was very glad to
hear from you all and to hear that
you was all well and to hear that
you have A good S[??????????]rly
boy to live with my dear [???????]
hem if you can [????] you think
you need Jack keep[??] my dear
as for clothes I [have?] enough to make out with
