Dear Rachel
I seat myself to Endever to
drop you a few lines but feel myself
Entirley incompitent to doe so under the
presant circumstances theirefore you
need not Expect a lenghty address &c
this leaves me well hoping it may reach
you well and doing fine I have nothing
of importance to right you wee are at
Secessionvill in the open tented field
take the weather as it comes sun or rain
the sun shines verry hot some days
the water is prity good wee git it from wells
I Expect the Band will go back to Sullivan
Island to morrow for the purpos of taking
lessons I Expect we will stay their a week
or two you stated in yours some time a go
that you wanted to no wheare I wanted
the wheat ground &c &c as to that I have
but little to say what there is of it is there

all right with me but I have no paper
to wast to right uppon the subject
I have tryed to right you a sort of a letter but it is no
