Dear Rachel
With pleasure I
seat myself to drop you a few
breaf lines which leaves me
quite well also Henry and
Joel hoping this may reach
you and all well My Dear
this will inform you that
wee are this fair on our way to
Richmond which is one hund
red and too miles from charleston
wee left charlston yestardy Eavning
at 7 Oclock and landed hare
this morning at 7 Oclock wee
will leave heare this Eavning
at 6 Oclock for Willmington
No. Ca. and from theire to Weldon
and so on I Expect it will take
us 5 or 6 day to reach Richmond
the most of the boys takes the

trip chearful altho wee lost
Eight men on the road last
night tha Jumped the cars 18
miles from charleston this is
from Capt Dannelly company
Capt Gunter lost 60 of his this
makes camp look quit small
this morning Co Keitt has tekeg
aphen this morning concerning
them I hope that no more will
follow the Example My Dear
I will to you at Evry conveniant
opportunity on the way and
give you the result of the trip
My Dear I will try to take the
trip chearful as posable and I
want you to doe the same altho it
is with much regret that I leave
you so fair take best of care of your
self and little childrin and
accept my love and best wishes
for you and all kiss sisey and the baby
for me the same for yourslf
