Richmond Va May 29th 1864
Dear Rachael With pleasure I
seat myself to comunicate to you
a few lines which leaves me in
tolerable helth also the rest of
the boys only Much fateiged from
the travil we landed heare this
morning at 6 oclock without Eney
serious acident on the road I am
unable to say how long wee wil
remain heare but I doe not Expect
long it is my oppinion that wee
will be sent to Lees army whcih
is some 15 miles from this place
My Dear I feel that our visit to
this place is one of serious consider
ation as theire is Eney quantity of
hard fiting bin going on for the
last three weekes and more Expected
soon and wee are certin to be into
it and god only noes the result of
Battle
