My Dear those boxis you sent us came to hand on
the first day of January which was on sunday we
injoyed them finely for too days when we had to
moove we brought as much as we could toat and
nailed the Balance up in the boxis an put in the
cars at Richmond to be brought on with the rest of
our bagage cooking utencials and the like men ware
detailed to gard and bring them through I supose
tha will be brought on to us again wen we stop
I hope so in deed for I would be verry sorry to loose them
all that ware in the boxis was perfectly good nothing
ware spoilt, My Dear no doubt our sirvices hear will
again be verry hard but still meney of our harts have
glowed with gladness to think we are again permited

to put our feet uppon its native and belovid soil
of South Carolina how pleasant its Breeze are to us all
My Dear I would be very glad to heare from you once
more I have not Received a line from you sience the
16th of December I want to heare how you injoyed the
Christmas and if you ware at the frolick over the Creek
as I supose there was one I wish you to give me some
of the perticulars of the affair give my love and Respts
to the family my unchanged love an Regards for
yourself and children tell sisey houdy and that pah
