Laurens District }
Dear husband I take
my pen in hand this night to rite you
afew lines to let you hear from
home our little baby is no better
his mouth is in the worst fix I
ever saw any thing and he has
hot fevers I am a fraid that he
wil never be raised he keep so
bad off I want you to come home if
you can willis went to see bill Irby
Wednesday in christmas about Getting
that old negro and he said that hee
had done hired him and his wife
to some body else and that we need
not to depend on Getting him
now I dont know what to do
Dave is at home now he says that
he would set in but he will
be 18 in may it mite be that I
could Get some body to finish

the crop if Dave had to go off I dont
know what to do thier is no chance
to Get a negro as I know of billy
I have not recieved a letter from
you in 2 weeks I started one to
you last week billy the little
sow had pigs and eat them
and the old sow has got 3
that is a poor crop of pigs
billy I will have to close as it
is Getting late in the night
and the baby resless I hope
you will come home soon
and mak new arrangements
I dont know what to do
until I hear from you
no gentleman would of acted
as bill Irby has I remain
