Dear husband it is with
pleasure that I seat my self to rite you
a few lines to let you hear from
home this letter leaves us al tolerble
well mary and buddy is both puny
I recieved a letter from you last week
and was glad to hear that you was well
well billy william Godfrey starts
in the morning I have got your
provision fixed up in a bag I not
Got narry box made and william
said a bag would Do as well I hope
that he will carry it through safe
I have put in a midling and a ham
and some meal and flour and a chees
box full of butter and one pound cake
and some fruit and rye thier is about
13 pound of butter that will do you
a good while I bought the most of it
at 2 dollars and 25cts a pound our cows dont

give milk now it is such bad weather
billy I am going to clinton this week to
try to Get that money from the old boss he
has sold out and I am afraid that he will
go off though they say that the money
is no account after april we payed off
Jo crews in good time I only had enough
left to buy the butter it took a hundred
dollars to Get the corn and shucks and
oats well billy the lost [t?]runk is found
and I have got my shoes and the candy
the boys had eat the candy pretty nigh
up I never expected to see the shoes I like
them very well they are amost to narrow
on the bottoms but they are nice shoes
