South Carolina } March the 27 1864
Laurens District }
My Dear husband it is with
pleasure that I seat my self this eavning to drop
you a few lines to let you know how we are Getting
on this letter leaves us all well with the exception
of cold I recieved a letter from you to day dated
the 13 I was glad to hear that you was well it had
25 dollars in it I you had of wish you had
of sent all the money you had John Deavenport would
of taken it off of our hands mother and sank has taken
up one of our notes with what money I had they had to
loos 25 dollars out every hundred but I dont have to loos
nothing out of mine they will finish paying off the note
to morrow Dave is gone with dock he broke up the new
ground and from the spring to the peach trees and pap will
tend it fanny and the colt has got the distemper they
have fell away a heap Irby is the sweetest little thing
you ever saw he can almost walk the wheat looks the
worst I ever saw you must come home Just Just

as quick as you can I can Get a half a galon of
honey and as much as a quart of brandy billy I will
have to close for this time I am at paps and it
is Getting late I will rite again in a few
days you s must come home
