Laurens District }
My Dear husband it is with
pleasure that I seat my self this eavning
to rite you a few lines in answer to your
kind letter which come to hand last
Friday I was very sorry to hear that you
was sick oh billy I am so uneasy about
you I have been looking for you home but
I have give you out I shall not look any more
until I see you comeing this letter leaves
us all well and Irby as sweet as ever and as fat
as a little pig well billy lizzy had her
baby last saturday night and it died a sunday
morning it was another boy it looks
like she has bad luck with her children
as well as a heap others both of fanny
nights children is dead they died with
the sore throat it is very bad about
now I am afraid that thier will
no children miss it it is one year to
day since our little Lueler died with that
awful diseas bless her little sole

I heard yesterday that billy hill had come
home I want you to try to Get off as soon
as you Get well enough I think they will
let you off it has been a good while since
you was at home if you [really?] was at
home now I will try and have them pickled
Cucumber for you against you come
home mama has had some very nice
water melons if you had of come with
Irby you would of got some of them
I will have some after awhile and mush
melons I will close for this time
