Wednesday morning August 6th 1862

Mr John P. Neves.
As I have
written to Wm I will write to you
we are all well this morning and
I hope this will find you well
I would have written to you before now
but Bery is gone and I could not write
you know so you must excuse me
and write to me often for you
may be sure I would love to hear
from you at any time
We will not tent at camp meeting this
year there is a sociation close by but
I will not get to go as Bery is
not at home William and Harriet Hall
has gone down to South Carolina now
I want to hear from Washington very
and want to hear how he is satisfied
I heard he had a boy and I guess he is not
sadisfied for I think he wants to see
him and I am sure I want to see him

I dont think he could take site
and kill a yankee for thinking of his
Boy I heard a few days ago the yankees
were close by where Bery is and I suppose
they have taken the agent negro and his horse
and they may have the rest of them now
for all I know so I must close
my bad written lines I want you to
write to me as soon as you get this
so no more at present but remains
your aunt until death Francis Hall

William I have saw all the pretty
girls since I wrote to you and the
girls on Pigeon loks so much better
than the Hominy girl I almost hate [1]
to name her to you I wish you was
here this morning to hunt my sheep
for they have all taken to the mountings
where your girl stays and I know you
would love to go up there so I will
close be sure and write soon
