Dear Father I Again Seat My Self to
write I will write to you Something of
the bigest fight that ever has bin fought, the
Battle before Richmond the batle Commist
the 31st.. of May & Lasted two Days I hear that
we gain one of the greates victerys that ever has
bin won & Completely Routed the enemy
the Loss though the Loss on our side was afel I
hear the Loss on our Side is kill & wonded
Seven thousan I do not no it to be true
I was not in the fight; at the time of the fight
we were in Seven Miles of it but we move[d?]
Day befor yesterday So we are at the presten
present in two Miles of the Batle field
Father I will Say to you that I havent bin in
are fight but we Loock to be in one evry
Day Father in Routing of the enemy I hear
that our forces taken all the enemys
Batries & all their Camps & A Large
A Mount of Comisarys Stories
& A Large A Mount of prisners

Father I have Conclued to write A few more
Lines to you My plank at parkers Mill I do
not no whether you have Sold it or not if you
have it is all Right but if you havent nor
Cant; if you pleas take Care of it & if you
Can hall it home & pile it up
Father I havent Drawed Money Since I have
bin hear but I have twenty Dollars that
I wish that you had for I expect that you need it
worse than I do also in this Leter will put
A Stamp for you to pay postage back
I bleive I have writen all the news
I will bring thes Lines to A Clos
pleas excuse My bad writen & Compos Leter
also Received my best Respects
& Give My Respects to all who
think worthy
I Remains your Soon till Death
