Dear Father I Seat my Self to
Drop you A few Lines I am well &
hops thes Lines May Reach you in
Dew tim & find you all well I have
no news of interest to write only we
are in A half A Mile of the yankes
& I will Say to you that their has bin
hevey Crumishing all A Long the
Line this week & also their is hevey
Canonading to Day & it is thought
that their will be A general engagment
in A few Days
Father I Shall Send thes
Lines by W. A. Lowery & also
I will Send to you Ten Dollars
in this Leter I will Close as I
havent no mors
