Dear Father I wonce More take
the opportunity to Drop you A few Lines
I am as well as Common & hops threw
the blesing of the almyty that thes few
Lines May Reach you & find you all well
Father I do not no as I have any interesting
news to write to you I writen one Leter
to you Since the batle whitch I wrote the
6.. inst.. As I have wrote to you I will Say
to you Again that we whiped the yankes
& Run them back out of their intrenchments Away
from Richmond thirty five Miles Down James
River under Cover of their Gunboats if it had
not bin for their Gunboats we would Completly
Distroyed & Capterd their hold Army
In Routing the enemy from befor Richmond
we Capterd forty piecies of Artilery & Several
Millions of Dollars worthe of propity & Large
A Mounts of Comissary Storeys
Father I expect to Send this Leter by hand
Mr.. Philops & others have Com from S..C.
to See us So I will have an opportunity
to Send by hand
I will write more this eavning

Day Father I will Say to you that uncle George
Gleen is Dead he Died at the hospital So I
Cant tell you what was the Disease he Died
with..uncle John Gleen has bin Sick for Last
Month but I Suppose that he is geting well
I Suppose you have Learn from the papers all About
the batle So I do not no as it is worth whil
to write any thing of the batle
A.J. C..T W..J. Jesse Dalton is all tolible
well

I have writen all the

Father I have jest Received A Leter
from you Stating that you are all well
whitch I am Very Glad to hear of & also
you wrote that the Childrn was growing
So find I am Very glad to hear of it
Father I tell you it ant the Case withe Me
for I have Seen Such heard times that
I have fell of So if you had Seen Me
Last winter & to Se Me now you
would not no Me I expect .. I wrote to you
in one of My Leters that I have heard
Souldiers Say thay have Seen the time
they would have given five Dollars for
one Meal of vituals I have Seen the time
My Self yes freely.. I am Very week yet
but Since I have got Something to eat My
Strenth is imprving fast
Father you wrote in your Leter that you had
Some idier of Campe Life I difer withe
you.. you May have Some thoughths but I
tell you they are very Samll thinking
is nothing to feeling when A Man
Cant get nothing to eat & has to

Father I wish if it was posible that you could
Come & Se the batles fields but I dont
want you to Spend any Money jest
