Camp Jacksand
Dear Father have conculded to Drope you A few Lines
I will Say to you that I Recieve A Leter from you to
Day whitch you Sent by Wm.. H. Dendy it was wrote
the 6 of July & I also Received the Leter you wrote
the 1st.. July I do not no who brought the Leter
I will Say to you that I am very glad to get A Leter
from you at any time & I also was glad to hear of
you all being well In your Leter you wrote that you
had not heard from Me Since the batle this is
three Leters I have writen to you Since the fight
the first one I wrote was wrote the Sixth of July
I would have wrote Sooner than the 6 but I Could
not get paper I hope that thes Lines will Rech
you So that you Can hear from Me & I will write
to you wonce A week & I want you to write to
Me wonce A week also you also wanted Me to
write Casulits of our Company I wrote it in the
Leter that I wrote one the 12 of July
Father I tell you that I would Like to See you all
Very Much the Childrens hair was great Satisfaction
though I think that Anna hair & Johns has
Change A great Deal though I May be Mistaken
in My thoughts any way it is great Satisfaction
to Me to See even their hair

Father I want you to write to Me whether you ever
got A Leter I Sent by Wm. A. Lowery in [???] Leter
that I Sent by Lowery I Sent in it Ten Dollars
in Money I want you if you plees to write to Me
whether you got it or not
I will Send thes Lines by Mr.. Philips & I wish
that I had Some Money to Send by him
but I have not Drawed A Sent of Money Since I have bin in this State & when I Come to
this State I had twenty Seven Dollars & I Sent
to you ten Dollars & now I have Seven Dollars
So you Can tell how Much I have Spent
I Say to you that I did not write in My
other Leter that W..S. Mc.Guffin &
B..F. McGuffin has Died withe typhoid
fever & also Obedier Liles has Died withe
the typhoide fever
this is all the news at present
I will Close Giveing you My best
