Dear Father and Family
I take this oportunity of writing you a few lines
to tell you know that i am yiett on the
land and a mong the living and I am tolrable
well at present and Doo Ernestley Hope that theas
few lines may find you and Family in Good
helth Father the Boys is sow badley scatterd that
i cant hardly tell you any thing a bout them
J. E. Bush is hear he is a grunting with the
Bowel complaint E Miller is hear he is well
H. Clarke is well J Ward is hear he is well
that is all of the Boys that is with me Dick
and Love [????] Lewis J Mosley L Mosley
Liut Bryant was left in Cantucky sick
our Regment was in a battle at Pereysvill
Cantucky but the Bush Boys was not thare
our Company went in with 14 men and
thare was 6 wounded and 1 kiled D A Thomas
was kiled Dead on the Field A. J. Nobling was
wound verey Bad L.W. Bigbie was shot
in the sholder withe one ball and in the neck
with another but the wounds was not Dangerous
J.M.P Talley shot in the leg Henry McCulough
shot in the knee and broke his knee all to smash
Jas M. Ellis slitley threw the belly W.G. Waren
struck with a peace of a bum on the sholder

Thomas Branon was wounded bad Dont know how
Bad Capt Cooper was is the Battle and Come
out safe he come on to the Cumberlin Gap
and Then we Got with us thare] and come with
us ti this place this is all i know a bout the Battle
Wm J. Spears is Deade W.D. Bush is Dead R H Adams is Dead
Now i will tell you who of the officers of the Regment
Got wounded Colonel Adams shot in the foot
Capt Kinney shot threw the Bowels verey Dangerous
Capt Warde shot in the hip verey Dangerous
Capt Doddson threw the leg Lieu Jos Pellam
shot threw thigh and thigh broke verey bad
and that all that i know but thare is
lots of the rest of the officers that is
wounde [the?] Regment went in to the Battle
with 3.80 men and thare was 167 killed
and wounde sow father i can say to yo
that bragg has left Cantuckey he was
on his way to this Place the last i
new of him sow Give my best Respets to
all in quiring friend sow i must
