more take the presant oppotunity
of writen you a few lines to let
you now that i hav got well a
gain and i hope these few lines
will reach you an find you in
joyen the same potion of God blessing

uncle Wm Norris i thout i wood
send a few lines with him to
let you now wher i am at
this time i am 18 milds North
East from Knoxville wee marched
it in a day an a half an toted our
knapsacks our lode wase a bout
fifty lbs wee hav started
to Kantucky threw the Cum
Cumblen Gap tha say the yanks
is all gone from thar the distents
is 250 milds that wee haft march
wee will stay her three or four
days i reckon i fear that i am
dun geten leters now for the male
