Camp Near Bunkerhill Va July
D Dear wife I seat my self
to Drop you afew lins wich
leaves me in good helth at the
present time hoping those few lins
may Come to hand in Due time
and find you and familey all
well and Doing well I have
Nothing of much intrust to
right to you Now at the present
more than we have left mayarland
and Penn and have Come Back
into Va again I am verry glad
that we have got Back into
Va again we started from
mayarland on the Night of the
13th inst & it raind all Day
and we Started off about 12
oclock at Night and it raind
all the time on us and the
mud was about knee Deep all
the way and we keep keep
marching til it raind Raind

So hard and got So Dark
that we Could Not see how
to go and we had to Stop an
I never Saw Such muddy men
in my life and lots of them lost
ther Shoes in the mud and when
tha Could git out tha Could Not
find thar Shoes I receved aletter
from you on the 13th inst Baring
the Date of June the 1st and
was verry glad to hear from
you for I had Not got But one
letter from you in Some time
and hit was Dated June
J June about the 12th as well
as I remember I Comest riting
this the Day that we left may[arland?] [??] [1]
Night and we Stopt awhile today
& I thought that I would right to you
alittle more tel Matilda Warren tha[?]
She must right to me tel all of the
Cornection to right to me tel all the
Children howda for me and I send
